The U.S. version of the Mitsubishi i-Miev electric car won't be available until late in 2011, but cnet got to spend a week in San Francisco with the Japanese version, to discover what life will be like with an electric car. The model tested by cnet does not wholly represent the car that Mitsubishi will sell in the U.S. According to the company, its U.S. car will have a slightly wider track for added stability. ChargePoint America Program

ChargePoint America is a program sponsored by Coulomb Technologies to provide electric vehicle charging infrastructure to nine selected regions in the United States. The program is made possible by a U.S. Department of Energy grant and a grant from the California Energy Commission. The objective is to accelerate the development and production of electric vehicles to substantially reduce petroleum consumption, reduce greenhouse gas production, and create jobs.
